Jewellery Care
Caring for your fine jewellery
Be sure to take care when wearing your favourite jewellery pieces throughout the day. Without notice your jewellery can get caught on clothing, accessories and items you come into contact with. Remember your jewellery should be the last thing that you put on and the first thing that you take off.
Remove your jewellery before sleeping, bathing, swimming or exercising to avoid damage and/or significant tarnishing to your beloved pieces. Also be weary of where you spray your perfume and hairspray. Be gentle with earring posts, clasps etc as they can bend or break under excessive force.
Your jewellery should be stored individually in a safe, dry & cool place to prevent from tarnishing, discolouration, tangling and scratches.
Due to a natural reaction to chemicals in the atmosphere, heat and body oils, jewellery may tarnish and oxidise over time. Discolouration can usually be removed by gentle rubbing with a good quality jewellery cleaning cloth.
Caring for your polymer clay jewellery
Your polymer clay jewellery are unique, handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Whilst I only use the highest quality, durable materials, your jewellery are delicate pieces of art and should be treated as such.
Your earrings should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
With this in mind, to take care of your pieces please follow the care instructions below.
- Avoid dropping, knocking or scratching your jewellery.
- Store jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Store pieces separately to other items to avoid scratching.
- Avoid contact with makeup, hair products, tanning products and perfume as this may cause staining or damage to your pieces.
- Do not shower or swim with jewellery on.
Cleaning your jewellery
Please take care when cleaning your pieces!
Polymer clay components
Gently wipe with a lint-free jewellery cloth or a fragrance free baby wipe.
Where necessary, makeup or other dirt can be removed from clay components by GENTLY going over dirty spots with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. Please use this method as a last resort.
Resin components
Wipe over with a clean damp cloth or fragrance free baby wipe.
Metal components
Components may tarnish and darken over time if exposed to water and oils from the skin. They can easily be cleaned with a soft jewellery cloth and tarnish remover or by using metal polish on a q-tip to gently clean the area and then immediately polish with a clean cloth. Please be careful to avoid contact with clay and resin components where possible.
If you follow these instructions, your jewellery should live a long and happy life!
